How Equiyd works

Equiyd’s unique check, vet and pay features create a seamless and transparent horse buying experience. And the best thing: you can choose which features you want to use.

Check a horse

Equiyd checks and authenticates everyone in the purchase process for your safety and transparency. From verified horse profiles to competition records, our check feature gives you confidence and protection from rogue buyers and sellers.

Here’s how we do it:

01

Authenticated buyer and seller profiles

This means that both the buyer and seller of the horse have verified their identities. So you know you’re dealing with real people who are who they say they are.

02

And there’s a profile for the horse

A comprehensive horse profile that includes all the need-to-know info: microchip and passport numbers, breeding details and vaccination records. This is so you can be confident of the background and credentials of your future horse.

We score horses using a unique transparency algorithm, and this transparency score is displayed on the horse profile to give you extra confidence.

This profile stays with the horse. So if you sell your horse later down the line, the profile is seamlessly transferred to the new owner. From here you can manage your horse’s routine appointments - vaccinations, farrier and dental - to ensure your horse's maintenance and wellbeing is managed all in one place.

03

Veterinary record check

Equiyd gives you the option to access the last 12 months' vet records, so you can be confident of an accurate horse history. Sellers can complete this themselves via a direct upload and authentication from the vet practice can be demonstrated on the vetting certificate, confirming that health records are accurate and up to date.

04

Competition records

Make sure your horse is capable of performing the way you want it to, by accessing credible performance history from verified databases and industry bodies. This gives you a transparent view of all the horse's competition achievements in one place.

05

Video and image uploads

Before purchase, you can access every high-quality image and video uploaded by the seller to get a better understanding of the horse’s physical condition, appearance and performance.

Vet a horse

Equiyd’s buyer-initiated horse vetting feature supports you with arranging a comprehensive vetting, making sure that the horse is healthy and fit for the intended use before you make a purchase.

Here’s how we do it:

01

Connecting you with certified vets

Equiyd facilitates a transparent vetting process. The attending vet has the ability to verify and validate the horse profile, making sure the documents are accurate and verified by an independent party - adding an additional layer of trust and reliability.

02

Conflict free vettings

Make sure your vetting results are impartial and objective. Equiyd utilises a conflict of interest waiver system, which means your vettings are signed-off as unbiased and conflict-free.

03

Vetting certificate upload

Digital vetting certificates are uploaded and attached directly to the record of the horse enhancing transparency. This is part of the horses’ digital footprint.

04

Previous vetting search

View past vetting history*. Make informed decisions based on historic vettings and get a comprehensive overview of general horse health and other factors which may affect your decision to purchase.

05

Video upload and analysis of vetting

Record important elements of the vetting process, including trot up and flexion tests. This innovative feature will eventually allow AI to assess the vetting and provide a second opinion, improving accuracy and supporting standardisation in the vetting process.

*Only available if the records exist.
