That idea didn’t start in the stables , it started in healthcare.
From Healthtech to Horsetech: Spotting the Gap
Before founding Equiyd, our founders have worked in healthtech and sportstech , building decision support systems to help clinicians make complex choices and empowering patients to manage their own health through digital tools, and athletes improve performance, for example in Formula 1.
What struck us was how healthcare’s digital transformation, though revolutionary , had created data silos. Hospitals, GPs, and specialists each digitised their systems, but none of them could talk to each other. Data sat in incompatible formats, locked in free text, making true innovation nearly impossible.
When we looked at the equestrian industry, we saw the same problem , only earlier in its digital journey. There was no unified, structured data. Every stakeholder owners, vets, governing bodies, farriers, passport authorities operated independently, often still on paper. It was fragmented, inefficient, and holding the entire industry back from innovation.
That’s when the idea for Equiyd was born.
The Vision: A Connected Ecosystem for Every Horse
We wanted to create something bigger than a management tool. Our goal was to build the digital foundation of the equestrian world ,one that could support welfare, performance, regulation, and research for decades to come.
Equiyd was designed from day one to be interoperable , a platform where data can move seamlessly between horse owners, vets, and authorities, while remaining secure, structured, and meaningful.
Every record, from vaccinations and vet visits to training sessions and feeding plans, contributes to a data model that learns over time. And when a horse changes ownership, Equiyd’s blockchain layer allows that data to transfer securely and immutably to the new owner, and the owner has total control over what data is sent to the chain.
It’s traceability, transparency, and intelligence , all built around the horse.
Real AI, Not Marketing Hype
AI is a buzzword right now , but it’s meaningless without the right data. Most so-called “AI” in this space is built on unstructured information, superficial apps, white labelled LLM's or manual tagging. At Equiyd, our AI is different because it’s powered by structured, machine-readable data.
That foundation allows us to build decision engines, training analysis tools, and predictive models that actually work.
From analysing riding videos using computer vision, to identifying patterns in health, performance, and recovery data , our AI is built to help both horse and rider reach their full potential safely.

What’s Live Now , and What’s Next
Right now, Equiyd’s Owner App is live , our first major release. It allows users to create detailed horse profiles, store care records, log training and competition data, and even set reminders for everything from vaccinations to farrier visits. We also have AI training analysis, that allows you to upload videos and receive personalised training feedback ( that gets better the more you use it learning your unique partnership)
But that’s just the start.
We’re working on a Veterinary View, complete with AI-powered clinical decision support for diagnosis and triage. We’ve also partnered with the Northern Ireland Passport Issuing Authority to power digital passports, a milestone that connects regulation, traceability, and welfare in one place.
Every week, new features are being released , and we’re still only scratching the surface of what’s possible.
